Alright, so I’m a little behind in posting this one. Even though I stepped away from blogging for a little while, I definitely didn’t step away from Pinterest. Since this was a cake for my son’s fourth birthday, I still have a picture of it to share.
As some of you might remember from my other birthday party posts, my son is obsessed with construction. He requested a construction theme for his second and third birthday parties. He was about to request the same for his fourth birthday when we suggested a few new options for him to consider. He’s such a creature of habit. Luckily, he loved the Cars idea.
At first, he still wanted to have construction vehicles on his cake. I think that’s why he liked the construction theme so much. Luckily for me, I found something that would still require vehicles to be on his cake but that also fit the Cars theme. Thank you, Pinterest!
Those of you that have seen Cars probably recognize this scene. It’s my son’s favorite part of the movie.
He was absolutely thrilled with his cake. Making it really wasn’t hard either. He already had the vehicles we needed, so that was a big help. I was hoping to get a tractor or two on there too but he didn’t have them and they were hard to find, so I didn’t worry about it. There actually wouldn’t have been room for them anyway.
Turning white frosting into tan frosting was probably the trickiest part. I think it turned out pretty well though.
If I had to guess, he will probably request another Cars party next year. We had to keep the banner up for about a month because he loved it so much. He only agreed to let me put it away when I told him he could have another Cars party next year.
