Day 292 – Crock Pot Hawaiian BBQ Chicken

I’ve seen this recipe come up on Pinterest a lot. I figured I should give it a shot to see if it was worth all that repinning. It was (at least that’s what my husband said)!


4-6 Boneless Chicken Breasts
1 Bottle Archer Farms Hawaiian Style Barbecue Sauce (from Target)
1 20 oz. can Pineapple Chunks, drained


Place chicken breasts in the Crock Pot and cover with sauce. I only used about 3/4 a bottle of the sauce. Empty the can of drained pineapple chunks on top. Cook on high for 2-3 hours or low for 4-6 hours. Shred the chicken with two forks while still in the Crock Pot so the chicken will be well coated with sauce.

My husband loved this. The sauce definitely has some kick to it, so be ready for that. You might think the pineapple would help cool everything off. In the words of my husband, you have another thing coming! The pineapple soaks up the spice more than the chicken does.
