Day 205 – Olive Oil to Remove Sap

{3 Comments}

Those of you with pine trees will appreciate this one. Our neighbors have a huge pine tree and it hangs onto our property. That means lots of pine cones for the little man to discover and throw around. While he loves chucking them, he doesn’t appreciate the sticky mess they leave on his hands. Soap can get it off, but you really have to scrub. I figured this olive oil tip was worth a shot.

I put some olive oil on a paper towel and wiped his hands. It totally worked! The sap came right off without a problem. I had another wet paper towel on hand to get the olive oil off and he was good to go.

This was also suggested for removing sap from cars. Those of you that have had sap on your car know how impossible it is to get off. Try a little olive oil next time!

  1. I will definitely be trying this one! We live surrounded by pine trees and sap can be a truly evil thing.

  2. Butter or margirine also works we used to do it all the time when we were kids I grew up around a lot of pine trees.
