Day 189 – Cure for The Hunger Games Hangover

{7 Comments}

I know I’m not the only one that suffered from a hangover after reading The Hunger Games trilogy. Those characters really stuck with me, and it was hard for me to move on after finishing them. I saw this pin for a cure, and I was all over it. The first thing that made me really happy was that The Giver was the first suggestion. This was my favorite book growing up and I still enjoy reading it to this day. If you haven’t read it yet, I highly recommend it. The City of Ember series was another one listed that I have read and really enjoyed.

Luckily, I found a hidden gem at the end of the list – Divergent. This series is still new, so only the first two books in the trilogy have been released. I thought the first book was good, but the second one is awesome! It’s similar to The Hunger Games in that it is a young adult trilogy based on a futuristic society with a female protagonist. That’s pretty much where the similarities end though. I’m not saying it’s a good as The Hunger Games, especially since the final book isn’t out yet, but it’s definitely a great read.
