I love guacamole, but I don’t like that it turns brown in the fridge. I like to be able to make dips like this ahead of time so they are ready to go when I want to eat them, but you usually can’t do that with guacamole. I learned that you can put plastic wrap directly on the dip to keep it from turning brown, but if it’s not pressed tightly on the dip without any bubbles, you will get brown spots.
This pin claimed that spraying guacamole with oil or PAM will keep it green. It makes sense if you think about it. It creates a barrier over the guacamole so the air can’t get to it. Does it work? It sure does!
Here is my guacamole after 24 hours in the fridge:
I did dab the guacamole with a paper towel before we ate it just to get some of the excess spray off, but I’m not sure if that’s necessary. The taste wasn’t altered at all either. Score!
