Day 122 – DIY White Nails

This was another pin that didn’t take me anywhere, but the directions were in the description, so I decided to give it a try. The pin featured a woman with milky white nails and bright white tips. It looks like she just got a manicure. Spoiler Alert: It’s probably because she did!

1 tablespoon hydrogen peroxide
2 tablespoons baking soda

1. Mix the peroxide and baking soda into a paste.

2. Let the paste sit on your nails for 5 minutes, then rinse.

After 5 minutes, you should have white nails. Here is what mine looked like. I only put the paste on my index and middle fingers.

This was a huge fail! This mixture really didn’t do anything at all. Has anyone else tried this one?

  1. How disappointing! At least you gave it a try.

  2. At least you have nice nails anyway, they already look manicured! I’m having a look for good pins for you to try now 🙂

  3. @366daysofpinterest i wonder what her nails looked like before she (the original pinner) started lol 🙂 but i did want to say a more effective (and in turn chemically stronger way) is to CAREFULLY apply 20vol (6%) peroxide developer (the kind used in professional hair color) on [and under the free edge of] “yellowish” or stained nails 🙂 if you allow it to oxidize on your skin it WILL burn.. good luck!! btw you can apply with a cotton swab or small brush (like a nail brush)

  4. I gave it a try and didnt see a difference either 🙁

  5. Scrub your nails using a nail brush and whitening toothpaste – it takes a while, but it works.

  6. I tried it twice. Both times unsuccessful.

  7. I saw a similar post that said 30 minutes so I did it longer. It worked better!
