I just discovered my love for chai tea recently. I remember trying it before, but for some reason it didn’t stick. Now though, I love treating myself to a good chai tea latte every once in a while. When I saw this pin, I was excited at the thought of getting to enjoy them more regularly at home. My expectations were pretty low though. I didn’t want to get my hopes up. Luckily for me, it far exceeded my expectations.

Ingredients:
1 cup dry powdered milk
1 cup non-dairy powdered coffee creamer
1 cup French Vanilla flavored non-dairy powdered coffee creamer
2 1/2 cups sugar (I used 1 3/4 cups and it was plenty sweet for me)
1 1/2 cups unsweetened instant tea
2 tsps. cinnamon
2 tsp. ginger
1 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. nutmeg
(Most recipes call for cardamom as an ingredient, but it so expensive. You can use nutmeg instead.)
Directions:
Combine all ingredients in a large bowl with a wire whisk.
Add small amounts to a blender or food processor and blend until it becomes a fine powder. I wasn’t sure why powders needed to be put through the blender, but it really did make a difference.
Store in an airtight container. To serve – add 3 tsps. to a mug of hot water, add a dash of milk.

The recommendation was to add only 3 tsps to a mug of hot water, but I use between 4 and 5 tsps. You can adjust how much you use depending on your taste and how large your mug is.
I really was surprised by how good this was. What a relief too. I would have been mad if I bought all that powdered milk and creamer for nothing!
This also makes a really great iced chia tea!

Looks yummy! I was tempted to buy the store made version at the store earlier but I’ll definitely try this first, maybe iced!
