Day 32 – Remove Carpet Dents with an Ice Cube

This was another household trick that I just couldn’t wait to try. I hate when I move furniture around only to be left with dents in the carpet. It seemed crazy to me that a little piece of ice could actually get rid of these carpet dents.

That’s because it is crazy.

Here is the carpet dent before:

I know it’s a little hard to see, but you get the idea.

All you have to do is place an ice cube on the dent and allow it to melt completely.

When it melts, your dent should be gone…

As you can see, mine remained. There wasn’t much of an improvement after the cube melted. She does mention that sometimes you need to do some fluffing with a fork after the cube has melted. I tried this and it did help a little, but the dent is definitely still there.

Oh well. I guess you can’t win them all.

I have a feeling that the type of carpet you have makes a big difference. The carpet in the original pin didn’t seem very thick. I was trying this on a very thick carpet, so maybe that had something to do with it.

Have you tried this one? Did it work for you?

  1. Hey! I’ve been meaning to tell you, I tried this and it actually did work! It was a VERY deep dent though, and the carpet isn’t the fluffy kind (if that makes any sense). The dent is still there a tiny bit, but you can hardly notice it and I think with some fluffing all will be good.
Thanks for the tip, sorry it didn’t work so well for you!
